About Markham Dental Centre
The Markham Dental Centre was founded over 30 years ago by Dr. Leon Stein. Our office provides the highest quality of oral care for all patients. We stand by work and always take the extra step to ensure everyone leaves satisfied. We work very closely with all types of oral health specialists in Manitoba and around Canada. Our policy is that we only commence any treatment if we feel we 100% can do the best job for you. If we feel that a particular treatment would be better suited for a dental specialist, we always let you know first. Your oral health care is what is most important to us, and sometimes a referral is best.

Our professional staff are highly trained team work hard to ensure that your visits are relaxing, and stress-free. We take the time needed to educate our patients on all of the possible treatment options and work with you to offer a custom treatment plan that fits your individual oral health needs.
DR. LEON STEIN
Dr. Leon Stein graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry. He has over 35 years of private practice experience as a dentist. Dr. Stein treats reconstructive and cosmetic cases in a very gentle and caring manner and has taken many courses internationally.Dr. Stein taught crown and bridge at the University of Manitoba Faculty of dentistry for approximately 15 years. Dr. Stein is a member of:
- The Canadian Academy for Esthetic Dentistry
- The Canadian Dental Association
- Past President at the Winnipeg Dental Society
- Past President at Manitoba Dental Association
When Dr. Stein is not working he enjoys golf, music and spending time with his family.
Dr. Stephanie Sokal
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Dr. Stephanie Sokal is proud to have completed her post-secondary education in-province. She majored in biochemistry and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Winnipeg. She then attended the University of Manitoba’s College of Dentistry where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Medicine and numerous awards for outstanding academic and clinical achievement. Dr. Sokal is passionate about dentistry and is dedicated to providing her patients with quality care in a relaxing and inviting atmosphere.
Outside of work, Dr. Sokal enjoys spending time with friends and family at the cottage. Dr. Sokal is thrilled to have joined the team at Markham Dental Centre and is now accepting new patients.

I have been coming here since I was a baby. Over 20 years now. Dr. Stein is kind, caring and an excellent dentist. He has taken fantastic care of my teeth and has preformed multiple tooth pullings... for me over the years. He makes you feel comfortable and confident in his care. His dental assistants are kind and professional as well. The front of house staff are friendly and helpful. This is no standard dental office. The work performed here is by far superior to other dentists I have visited. Dr. Stein and his team take great care in their work. I have been a patient od Dr. Stein's for many years. Recently I had major trauma to my mouth and teeth. The wonderful ladies that work the front went out of their way to ensure the doctor saw me... immediately. Because of this treatment began quickly and my teeth were fixed so well, no one would know that I had damage. Dr. Stein is a caring dentist and always makes me feel comfortable. He explains what and why procedures are required. To the ladies at the front and all the hygenists as well as the doctor, all my dental needs are met. Three generations of my family go to Dr. Leon Stein. I personally have been going to see him for almost 45 years. He is a thorough professional who prides himself on excellent work.His staff are... always friendly and do their best to get you in at a time that works for you.Dr. Stein is very good at anticipating potential issues and will recommend proactive action only when necessary. In my years of going there, any procedure I’ve had has been painless. Following any work, he makes sure you are satisfied with the results. I can’t thank Dr. Stein at Markham Dental enough. Several years ago I was recommended to go and see Dr. Stein and as someone who has a fear of the dentist I was definitely reluctant.
